Please note: Women of reproductive age should have the test done on day 3 of the menstrual cycle for accurate results (day 1 of the cycle counts as the first day of full bleeding). Women with established menopause can have FSH tests done at any time

How to prepare for the blood test appointment?

  • Women of reproductive age should have the FSH test done on day 3 of the menstrual cycle for accurate results (day 1 of the cycle counts as the first day of full bleeding).
  • Women with established menopause can have the FSH tests done at any time.
  • Drink plenty of water 24 hours before your appointment. This will make the blood drawing process easier.
  • Stop eating for several hours or overnight before the test.
  • Avoid alcohol 1-2 days before the test.
  • Avoid strenuous exercise before the test.
  • Wear loose and comfortable clothing to allow easy access to both arms and hands.

 

It generally takes 2- 3 business days to process and release your test results. However, processing times may vary.
