This panel would help to diagnose common sexually-transmitted diseases.
Performing STI (Sexually Transmitted Infection) blood tests is important to detect infections such as HIV, syphilis, and hepatitis early on, allowing for timely treatment, preventing the spread of infections, and safeguarding overall sexual health. Regular testing is particularly important for those with multiple sexual partners or engaging in unprotected sex.
How to prepare for the blood test appointment?
You don’t need any special preparation for this blood test. Perhaps we advise you to:
- Â Drink plenty of water 24 hours before your appointment. This will make the blood drawing process easier.
- Stop eating for several hours before the test.
- Avoid alcohol 1-2 days before the test.
- Avoid strenuous exercise before the test.
- Wear loose and comfortable clothing to allow easy access to both arms and hands
Â
It is important to note that many STIs have a window period following a sexual encounter in which an STI may not be detected.Â
It generally takes 2- 3 business days to process and release your test results. However, processing times may vary.Â
