LFT is a blood test that measures various liver enzymes and proteins in your sampleblood to evaluate the health of your liver. Perform this test to investigate symptoms of unexplained abdominal pain, jaundice, tiredness, dark-coloured urine/light coloured stools; To investigate liver scarring (liver cirrhosis); To monitor liver health in certain conditions such as alcohol hepatitis , or to monitor the response of treatment for several diseases.
How to prepare for the blood test appointment?
You don’t need any special preparation for this blood test.
Perhaps we advise you to:
- Drink plenty of water 24 hours before your appointment. This will make the blood drawing process easier.
- Stop eating for several hours before the test.
- Avoid alcohol 1-2 days before the test.
- Avoid strenuous exercise before the test.
- Wear loose and comfortable clothing to allow easy access to both arms and hands
