In early stage of pregnancy which is less than 8 weeks, Sonographer will advise you to do the scan via transvaginal as the structure will be much clearer. You might be concerned with this approach, but be assured that transvaginal ultrasound scan is safe to perform during pregnancy.Â
As the pregnancy progress to 8 weeks and above, the scan will be performed transabdominally which is scanning from the tummy. This scan may require you to have full bladder depending on the gestation.Â
