Is there a guarantee that the gender will be accurate?
The accuracy rate for determining gender during an ultrasound between 18 and 20 weeks is usually above 95%. Still, it’s important to remember that ultrasounds are not 100% accurate. The accuracy can be influenced by several factors, including the skills of the sonographer, the position of the baby especially if the baby has its legs crossed and the gestational age at the time of the scan.
What should I anticipate during a gender reveal ultrasound?
A gender reveal scan is generally part of a routine prenatal ultrasound. Using a 2D ultrasound, the sonographer examines the area between the baby’s legs to determine the gender. The process is usually quick if the baby is in the right position If you’re planning a gender reveal party, let the sonographer know in advance so they can write down the gender and seal it in an envelope. Sana Health Diagnostic also provides a complimentary balloon for your gender reveal upon request.Â
