LIVER SCANS DUBLIN

Scan for Liver (Hepatobiliary System) €160.00

A liver ultrasound scan is a non-invasive imaging test used to examine the liver, gallbladder, bile ducts, and pancreas.

A liver ultrasound is used to evaluate:

  • Liver Health: Detects issues such as fatty liver, cirrhosis, and liver tumors.
  • Bile Duct Issues: Identifies blockages or inflammation in the bile ducts.
  • Pancreatic Disorders: Helps diagnose conditions like pancreatitis or pancreatic masses.
  • Gallbladder Health: Detects gallstones, inflammation, or other gallbladder conditions.

Your doctor may recommend this scan if you’re experiencing symptoms such as abdominal pain, jaundice, or abnormal liver function tests. It’s important to address these concerns promptly as early detection.

For a reliable and accurate assessment, consider scheduling your liver ultrasound with Sana Health Diagnostic.

Dublin

While you may not always need a referral from your GP to attend, for certain cases referral letter is needed to ensure that the appropriate examination is conducted based on your specific medical needs.

Preparation before exam:

You must not drink or eat anything 8 hours before your ultrasound.

Please wear relaxed and comfortable clothes at the time of the ultrasound.

Expectations During Ultrasound examination:

Our sonographers will guide you about the exam and answer your queries.

The examination requires you to lay down on your back on the examination couch.

The sonographer will apply warm sterile gel to the skin of your abdomen. The gel helps in transmission of sound waves from the machine to body and helps in visualizing the body structures.

Transducer or probe will be placed on your body and body parts will be scanned through the transducer.

After a thorough examination of the ultrasound images by our Consultant Radiologist, expect the report to reach your GP within 2 working days from the date of your scan.

Please note: We do not analyze or interpret your private blood test. Your test results will be available in a clear and easy-to-read report. If your results differ from expected ranges, we recommend you discuss it with your doctor/ health care provider.
